Sam’s farewell dinner

Few days ago, me and the rest iof ERP team in my office were having farewell dinner.The farewell is for one of our friend from ERP team that will leave the office. Honestly, I dont feel like joining the function initially since I’m financially broke only to survive until end of this month – payday. But since I’m already says okay like from the week before, so I thinked I’m just gonna borrow the money from someone else.

So there we went.

It was three of us going altogether for the first batch, me, my friends Chris who is driving, and Sam the farewell boy. We was the first group that reached the place. It was an Italian restaurant just close to Novena square, the place itself is not very big, like only able to cater 20 – 25 people at a time. So can you imagine by the time the rest of our group comes in, our tables has the loudest voice and laughter than rest of the tables. Anyway it wasnt realy crowded.

They served quite a vary of Italian dishes like pizza, pasta, and so on. And the price is very reasonable for a class of Italian restaurant. I remembered last time my friend took me to those Western food, and the price range is similar, around S$20 for main dishes.

We ordered seafood platter for oppening appetizer, and bread. The bread comes with an olive oil and dunno what sauce, my friend mix the sauce first so we can dip in the bread inside. Yummy, taste really fresh, sour and sweet at one time, and the platter is not that bad either. Their mayo sauce is winner.

Here comes the Pizza, we ordered two kind of pizza, one is with layer of ham, and the other has mushroom as the topping. As usual, Italian pizza always so thin but it really crunchy. Loved the one with mushroom.

Before we even finished the pizza, our pasta comes in. It really looks nice and it taste nice as well. They really put in big type of prawn inside. Yumm. The portion was so big, that one portion I think can cater up 3 to 4 person. Even so, my friend can’t finished it so they told me to whacked all the rest. I dont mind.

We still have a desert before we come to the main thing of this event. So we asked Sam to give a speech which is never happened. And we just happily to mingle around here and there, talking funny things about job, coleagues, basically we are gosipping anything about the company. Don’t you love just to hear gossip, . Even before my boss leave, she already start to ask Sam to re-think again, to stay work for the company. Not happened the first time, so I was not a surprise, they did that when Winston -my exboss- leaved the company few months back.
After realizing her effort leads to nothig – she decided to left earlier, and just after 5 minutes she went, she texted Chelsea that says Dinner is on her but please ask Sam to think again. We did ask. But Sam is hard like a nutshell, he stand firmly with his mind and started to explain to us the reason why he wanted to leave. He said he felt that he is stuck with his current work and fell too safe for this job, yet he’s still 30. He doesn’t want to wait for another 3 years and regret that he should do this thing years ago. Fair enough, I think he able to confirm us enough not to force him more.
